Piles of snow silently fell overnight.
I was woken at 4am by Claudia who needed to use the toilet.
The
bathroom floor was freezing and on returning to bed said to Hag that we
needed to do something about the temperature in there.
Hag rose at 6am and quietly called to me to look out the window.
Being born and breed in the South I have seen plenty of snow days in my time. However, last nights was one of the more magical ones.
The snow silently fell as we all sleep, and then surprises us in the morn.
One where all schools are closed, police recommended everyone stay off the roads and the city is on lock down.
It wasn't one of those snow days where the snow fell and then the sun shone.
It snowed and snowed and snowed. And it remained mostly grey for the rest of the day.
So it wasn't long until everyone at our place was inside again for fresh warm clothes and raisin scones.
However...
I am supposed to be driving to Queenstown tomorrow,
to fly to Melbourne on Thursday
for one of my best friends weddings.
I'm nervous.
Before the snow I was nervous about the complications that can potenially come with flying with Jetstar;
now,
I'm nervous that I won't be able to drive through as much of the road to Queenstown has been closed today.
And I am nervous that the flight won't take off from Queenstown.
Argh!
